UIC wells (Underground Injection Control) are man-made structures for injecting fluids underground, regulated by the EPA to protect drinking water, ranging from simple drywells for stormwater to complex deep wells for industrial waste or oil/gas operations, classified by the type and depth of fluid injected, like Class V (stormwater, septic) or Class I (hazardous waste).
